Objective

Alpine Fault Network (AFN) training nets are conducted on the first Sunday of every month.

Participation enables you to;

• Test your equipment in an off grid configuration

• Practice using the NATO phonetic alphabet

• Practice reading a structured report for your station

Topics relevant to training nets are;

• How to build an NVIS antenna

• Understanding LAMP (local area mobile prediction) charts

• Choosing an HF band suitable for the time of day
