Upon experiencing or becoming aware of a disaster anywhere within New Zealand, self activate without being asked or called.
If not already posted by another AFN member, send email to alpine-fault-net@groups.io to advise other members of the disaster.
Within the email message, state your station callsign, location, and the frequency on which you intend maintaing watch.
Activate your station by calling CQ ALPINE FAULT NET.
Be prepared to assume the role of NCS (Net Control Station) if you are the best operator for the task at the time.
Your station is a gateway between the Alpine Fault Network and destinations that you can reach using telephone and Internet.
You may also be called upon to relay messages between stations within an affected region who are unable to communicate directly.
