The Alpine Fault Network helps communities struggling with communication following a natural disaster.
Our HF radio network does not rely on any terrestrial or satellite service to reliably pass information and messages. When normal services fail or are overloaded, HF radio can get through.
We invite civil defence and emergency services to subscribe to our team directory, so they can see where our members are located and how they can be called upon to help if required.
Our amateur radio operators within a disaster region observe what is happening, or have observations reported to them via PRS radio.
Observations are transmitted to other stations via the Alpine Fault Net and made available to Civil Defence organisations.
